Being in art biz 15 years now and having three galleries since 2003 i"ve found advertising to be nebulous at best with very little return for the money spent . I've only had a few sales from web-site and most contacts are from advertisers looking for more biz for themselves . Here's a good fact : when we had gallery in Wickford ,RI we had four artists advertising in American art reveiw, in two years time only one person said they'ed seen an artist in that mag and that person was an artist not a patron . This not to say DON"T advertise , theres just a better to do it for us artists and I dont think we've found it yet .
