To Mrs. Mundewadi--I just went to your page and deeply admired your work, especially Calming Stillness, Fusion of Energies, and Opening of the Third Eye. Very nice. You should have nothing to fear as to the quality of your work and its appeal in the…
Re: Ms. Rizwanas question for discussion.
If you are happy making artworks that give you that wonderful feeling of creativity and satisfaction, then you are a successful artist.
If you base success on the selling value of your work, then you are s…
Dear Donneli It is hard to believe that these drawings were drawn in such a small amount of time. How polished! And the anatomy.......it takes a lot of practice to have results such as these. I particularly liked the drawing of the woman model clutc…
Retired in southern Arizona. I have lived here now for 5 years and love the color quality of the atmosphere. I work in a good size studio with many windows. In this area are a great many artists and galleries--a fertile place for the mind to create.
What is your artistic style
Eclectic. I have done natural abstracted pieces in watercolor and inks; natural landscapes painted with knives in oil or brushwork; pencil sketches; and the digital photos closeups of abstracted glass which are shown here on this site.
What is your artistic medium
Photography, acrylics and watercolour. I have so many interests in artistic expression that I realize I must cut down in order to focus on the type of medium I am most interested in right now. Also, I need a theme for this choice so that that the work resulting will be more interesting. Thank you, Mr. Povey, for this wonderfull site to see the work of others --and show my own!!
Shirley,
Thanks for your interest in the figure drawing video. You can see actual demonstrations of the technique that I use ("Reilly Technique") at www.youtube.com/DJDiMaria. Frank Reilly developed and taught this technique at the Art Students League in NYC from about 1935-1968. I teach this at the Santa Fe School of Art in Santa Fe, NM. Also, the only book I know on the technique can be found on Amazon or directly from the author Jack Faragasso for about $25-$35.
Thanks,
Donelli (Dan) J. DiMaria
Welcome Aboard. I only started this site 9.00pm GMT Thursday 23rd October 2008 and I am proud to have so many artists join in such a short time. Although now semi-retired, I act as an artist recruiter for a couple of websites. I live in Hastings on the South Coast of England, you know, Battle of Hastings, William the Conqueror, 1066 and all that. I am a writer.
It occurred to me that some sort of network was needed for artists, photographers, writers and poets to pool ideas, exchange views and promote their work. It is new and we will go along together, tell me what you require and we will see if we can do it. It is free; I know that artists are poor penniless souls working in lonely garrets, living on tins of cold baked beans, so I do not want to add to their worries. What I will do, as I have done before is to place the site in the view of art buyers, interior design companies and such like. If you wish to change the theme/style of your page, click on change theme on the left hand side of your page. If any of your friends and relations are artists, writers, poets, sculptors, in fact anything artistic, let them know they would be most welcome to join the site. Once again, welcome aboard.
