I was painting in oils too but wanted to avoid the turpentine smell! I'm use to acylic now but may go back again. The make of paints seems to vary quite a lot too.

Hi, you asked medium of the work I uploaded images of today - they're mostly acrylic on canvas (I tend to specify acrylic gel as I like working in translucent layers using gel additives to build up the paint layer gradually). The black and white pieces are in charcoal on paper.

I work wet into wet with oils all the way through. I address my paintings much like a writer would, in drafts. The first draft I just want to cover the canvas as quickly as possible with a large brush. The second draft, I adjust my shapes, values and colors. The third draft, I go to a smaller brush and begin defining the shaps a little bit more adding characture and spontineity with my brush work. This is a general assessment of my process

Hi Jean-Baptiste- They are either quite large (48"x72 or 48x60) or mid sized (24x30 or 36x36)
I so love the sense of space and place in your work.

Hey, Jean-Baptiste~~
Great to hear from another member of AFAS. Love your art work. Do you ever sell the rights to use them as screensaves or website backgrounds? (I especially had my eye on a couple) I have been published. I write mystery/suspense novels. with a little romance to feed the woman's soul. My books are availabe (free shipping) from my website: www.maryannartrip.com
Thanks for the invitation to join your list of friends.

Hi

Well kinda close. Yes I am using a digital camera, which is a very modest small 'pistol' grip bridge cam. My current finances won't stretch to Photshop currently and i am still learning how to use it (slowly), so I use the effects features in a CD design package I use on my mac to get some of the effects.

Thanks for your feedback.
