Partly alone; but very busy this holiday season.

Most of my life was spent in the Toronto area of Ontario, Canada. 'TO' is a great city, but jobs were scarce in the early 90's, due to a down economy - like today! We had a choice in 1994 to job relocate, either to a storm zone in the USA, Texas, or Hawaii. Which would you choose?

We settled on Oahu, Hawaii for 13 years. Previously in Canada I worked for different design companies and painted on the side. In Hawaii at first, I did not have a work permit (my wife did) so I painted full time. I a… Continue

Open Gallery, Open Letter from Kevin J Hatton

I thought it would be good for me just to give a final (at least for this year) 'progress report.

The new Pod Cast set for May 2010 now entitled 'Open Gallery', is well on track. Some of the pre-production now well and truly underway with some provisional recording sessions in the early planning and on track for recording sometime in January.

I plan to do a brief promo on video to open up the feed with but not sure when. The main focus at the moment is communications and recording and compilin… Continue

Visions of the Subterranean

in the Run-down Rooming-House of the Soul

In this run‑down rooming‑house of the soul

the Subterranean has visions of the Gods

of poetry tumbling down no longer

immune the disease destroying waves

of grass even flowers of evil

entombed poets dug up rotting bodies executed

to please the public apocalyptical verses

of the slouching beasts the whimpering

of the world dying Yeats & T.S. Elliot even

come tumbling down apparitions of… Continue

Poem: Christmas (An Acrostic)

Christ is still this season's reason of Hope;

Harps of angels tinkle with celebration -

Risen is our Savior, who is still

Interceding on everyone's behalf.

Satan is defeated, now and forever more.

Today is a gift, for it's always present;

Make room in your heart to share Love

And let the Joy of the Lord flow freely.

Saints, sinners arise... and be glad in Him!

Wishing everyone a Merry Christmas and Happy Holidays this 2009 season!

Book Review: Reaching Towards His Unbounded Glory by Ellen Tanner Marsh

As reviewed by NY Times best selling author
Ellen Tanner Marsh

Any Christian surveying the current state of modern poetry could easily become discouraged, given that much of that poetry can only be categorized as nihilistic. At worst, such poems seemingly promote despair and violence-against society, the church, or even against oneself. At best, they consist of self-centered whining and overdramatic emotionalism, completely devoid of spiritual muscle and ethical backbone.
